The Apfelkern daycare (MetropolitanKids gUG) is a small non-profit facility in Moabit with 25 places; it accepts children from around 12 months and works with a situation-oriented approach based on the Berlin Education Program. The facility sometimes divides the children into a group for up to three years and a group for children aged three and up, and emphasizes organic vegetarian catering.
